Halogen Lamps
Low voltage halogen dichroic lamps offer many advantages:

  • A brighter, crisper light than standard incandescent lamps
  • A significantly longer lamp life than GLS (standard household lamps). Most halogen dichroic lamps offer a life of about 3000-5000 hours
  • Precise and even light distribution
  • An energy saving of around 20% compared to incandescent lamps offering the same light output.

In choosing the right halogen dichroic lamp for your application, the most important points to consider are the lamp life you require (this is especially important when installing in hard to access places) and the beam spread you desire.

For general and task lighting, the wide beam spread offered by FNV (60° beam) dichroic lamps is the most ideal, whereas the narrower beam spread of EXN (40° beam) lamps is suited to accent lighting, for example when you wish to highlight a special painting or ornament.

GU10 240v Halogen Lamps
GU10 halogen lamps operate on mains voltage and comprise a quartz halogen burner positioned in an aluminium coated reflector, providing similar (but not quite as sharp or bright) output to MR16 lamps without the need for a transformer. They come in a range of outputs including 50w standard life, 50w long life and 35w standard life.

Features:

  • Aluminium reflector directs most of the IR radiation or heat to the front of the lamp - ideal for use in fittings such as spotlights where the lamps are operating close to the ceiling
  • Long life versions with 2000 hour lamp life
  • Integral UV stop as per IEC60432-2
  • Constant light output over lamp life
  • Glass cover
  • Dimmable
  • Internally fused for your safety

G9 240v Halogen Lamps
G9 240v halogen lamps provide the bright light of standard halogen lamps without the need for a transformer. Using krypton gas, these lamps give a higher light output with a more stable lamp life.

These tiny wonders are available in a range of versions including 25w, 40w, 60w and 75w and are also dimmable. They are double fused for safety and comply with the EN60598 standard for use with glass fronted fixtures.
Batten Fix Tip
The maximum rated wattage for batten fix is dependent on the maximum rated wattage of your batten fix holder. We recommend a maximum wattage of 60w as most batten fix holders bear that rating.

If you require a brighter light, why not try using compact fluorescent energy saving lamps.
Track Lighting Tip
Track lighting fixtures offer an opportunity to be creative and make an aesthetic statement. Many track fixtures can be quite attractive and even striking.

In some instances the design elements of the track fixture might be used to complement the design elements of other items in the space or even underline the decorative theme of the entire space.
Pendant Lighting

In general, pendants should be positioned approximately 75 centimetres from the surface of your tabletop and should be at least 15 centimetres narrower than the table on all sides.
Table & Floor Lighting

When choosing a table lamp, consider not only the decorative aspects of the fitting but the functional features as well. For instance, ask yourself if the shade is going to shield your eyes from the light, is it going to allow the light to shine through and upwards to light up the room, or is it going to allow ample light downwards to read with?
Landscape Lighting

Add to your garden’s night time beauty by illuminating a feature tree with an in ground spotlight.
For a full tree, place the light close to the base of the trunk and light upward so that the spreading ‘pool’ of light can create attractive shifting patches of dark and light foliage. For slim trees, use a narrow-beam spotlight.
