Company History

The Light Factory was established in 1986 as a small family business By David Jackson. David started with 3 stores,

Mile End - The original store on Railway Terrace has since been moved to The Mile End Homemaker Centre.

Morphett Vale - Originally on Main South Rd is now situated at 140 Sherrifs Rd (Next to McDonalds)

Westlakes Mall - Which soon became too small for our growing range of fittings.

In 1988 The new premises at Para Hills was built to house a huge showroom and manufacturing plant as well as extensive warehousing to service the growing demand in the lighting industry.

Over the years The light factory has increased its range with both AUSTRALIAN MADE PRODUCTS and an IMPORTED SELECTION to offer just about every kind of lighting available.

The Factory Outlet houses a manufacturing facility which enables alterations to fittings to suit individual needs ie; "raked" or "high" ceilings.

The manufacturing facilities include;

  • Electroplating plant - incorporating world leading technology.
  • Powder coating - able to handle from small to large items in various colours.
  • Metal spinning - many fittings have spun aluminium fittings made in-house at the factory
  • Timber turning, routing and finishing - What can be done at the factory with a raw lump of timber will astound you.
  • Tube bending and threading - each arm is meticulously threaded and bent for a large range of lights.
  • Assembly line - Our highly skilled team can adapt almost any of our fittings to suit your needs.

Our factory is second to none and we have on hand the latest in technology and skills to provide the largest range of lighting possible.
